The group of six former employees of “Haveeru” have re-filed their appeal with High Court, after the original file for appeal was rejected by High Court over failure of the staff to attend court.
The former “Haveeru” staff are appealing the two-year ban issued by Civil Court against any former employee of “Haveeru” from working in a media station.
High Court kicked the appeal out of court and informed the appellants on October 4, after they failed to attend court for the last hearing.
High Court accepted the re-filed appeal on October 16.
The six appellants are:
1. Ismail Naseer, Editor of “Mihaaru”
2. Riffath Mohamed, CEO of “Mihaaru
3. Ahmed Hamdhoon, Assistant Editor of “Mihaaru”
4. Niumathulla Idhrees, Assistant Editor of “Mihaaru”
5. Abdul Rasheed Hussain, General Manager of “Mihaaru”
6. Moosa Latheef, Editor of “Haveeru”
The Civil Court ban was appealed by both the State and former employees of “Haveeru”.
