Police have started investigating a threat made by an individual to blow up the State hospital, Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
The bomb threat was issued over social media this week.
The individual did not give a reason for the threat, or details on how the threat would be enforced.
A senior police officer spoke to “Sun” this Tuesday and confirmed the police was probing into the threat. But refused to divulge any details regarding the case.
“At this point, we can only reveal that we are looking into it. We cannot say any more,” said the officer.
No arrests have been made yet.
It has been a number of years since the police reserve force had taken over the security of IGMH.
Issuing a bomb threat is an act of terrorism, which carries long prison sentences.
