Riyaz elected Deputy Leader of JP

Kinbidhoo MP Abdulla Riyaz has been elected Deputy Leader of Jumhoory Party (JP).

Spokesperson for JP, Ali Solih reported Riyaz was elected Deputy Leader via a confidential vote taken during the council meeting held Sunday night.

He said Riyaz beat his contenders for the position by a considerable margin.

Solih said JP was in the midst of efforts to conduct voting to fill vacant positions within the party.

He expressed hope Riyaz would carry JP forward towards a more prosperous future using the experience of his political background.
