Shahid’s wealth includes MVR 5.5 mn, a house in UK

Asset declaration documents of North Henveyru MP Abdulla Shahid, the former Speaker of People’s Majlis, shows he possesses MVR 5.5 million and a house in United Kingdom.

Shahid released his asset declaration documents via his official Twitter account on Monday.

All lawmakers were required to send their asset declaration forms for 2016 to Secretary-General of People’s Majlis by October 28.

Assets registered in Shahid’s name includes the house – H. Rabee’ee Manzil and a house in Park Road, Preston, UK.

He also has a car in his possession.

The asset declaration documents show Shahid does not have any businesses registered to his name; but owns 33 percent shares of SAMS Investment and Management, 100 shares in State Trading Organization, 100 shares in Maldives Tourism Development Corporation, 12 shares in Maldives Transport and Contracting Company, and 50 shares in Bank of Maldives.
