MEGA doubles baggage allowance, announces special rates for SATA

MEGA Maldives has announced special rates for guests attending the upcoming South Asian Travel Awards in neighboring Sri Lanka.

SATA – the most prestigious award in the field of tourism in South Asian region – will be held in Mount Lavinia Hotel, Sri Lanka, from November 15 to 16.

Public Relations Manager of MEGA, Jawid Faizal spoke to “Sun” this Tuesday and said that the special fare would be applicable from November 14 to 17.

With the special fare, a two-way ticket to Sri Lanka will be available for USD 175, and passengers will be able to enjoy an increase in baggage allowance to 30 kg.

The special fare will be available for bookings made with the code (SATA).

Maldivian international airlines, MEGA Maldives is set to start flights between Sri Lankan capital, Colombo and Male’ on November 3.

It will have flights between Colombo and Male’ on every Monday, Thursday and Saturday so that passengers can travel between the two countries during weekends.

Rates of two-way tickets between Colombo and Male’ will start at USD 165, and a one-way ticket will cost between USD 70 to USD 95.

Passengers will be allowed a baggage allowance of 15 kg.

Meanwhile, SATA’s host partner, Mount Lavinia Hotel has introduced a special promotional code - (SATA1) – which can be used for guests staying at the hotel between November 15 to 17.

The hotels’ twin beds – direct ocean view rooms and king bed – direct ocean rooms will be available for USD 121.99 per night as part of the promotion. The rate includes breakfast and taxes.
