Cargo container falls into the sea during offloading

A cargo container has fallen into the sea while offloading from a cargo ship to a barge outside the MPL area.

An official from MPL said that the container fell due to a problem with the crane of the cargo ship being used in the transfer.

He said that the container and the cargo ship both belongs to Honey Corner.

The MPL official said that a problem with the crane led to an explosion of a hydraulic pipe and the crane lost power and lowered the container into the sea.

The cause cannot be determined as a maintenence problem or otherwise without an investigation.
