President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has officially inaugurated the new harbors at Hirimaradhoo and Nehlaidhoo in Haa Dhaalu Atoll.
The President began his tour of Haa Dhaalu and Shaviyani Atoll this morning at Kurinbee. On his visit, President Yameen inaugurated the harbor of the island.
Meeting the people of Kurinbi afterwards, the President highlighted that the evolving thought of the society has led to several changes in the Maldives which would further enhance the development of the nation. In this regard, the President shed light on current and future development projects targeted throughout the country. Continuing on, President Yameen also touched on the social issues and developments being faced by the nation.
The Hirimaradhoo island harbour is 400 feet long and 200 feet wide, with a total value of MVR 24.2 million. The harbour was developed by the administration in order to solve the difficulties faced by the residents in docking at the island, whereby easing current travel burdens significantly.
The President was accompanied by Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Parliament Member of Hanimaadhoo constituency Hussain Shahudhy, Members of the Cabinet and some Members of the Parliament.
