Vice President of the President Yameen's faction of PPM, Abdulraheem Abdulla had said that leaving the PPM ticket and running add an independent candidate at the Local Council Election could be an obstruction to the progress of their respective islands.
Speaking on TVM regarding the preparations for the Local Council Election, the MP for Fonadhoo constituency, Abdikraheem said that candidates who wish to run in the election on the PPM ticket can submit their applications to their office at Dharubaaruge starting tomorrow.
As some are considering leaving the PPM ticket and running independently, Abdulraheem said that it could be a loss on the development of the island and advised staying on the PPM ticket.
He said that he does not believe leaving the PPM ticket and running independently during a PPM government is the best thing to do.
Abdulraheem said that they would provide application via email to candidates in the atolls.
Maumoon faction of PPM has also opened applications to run in the Council Election on the PPM ticket. The forms for that faction are to be submitted at the PPM Head Office.
