LKG, UKG education to be provided free in Male’

Ministry of Education has made the decision to provide Lower Kinder Garten (LKG) and Upper Kinder Garten (UKG) education for free in select public schools in Male’, starting from the beginning of academic year 2017.

LKG and UKG education is being provided for free in public schools across the country barring Male’ and Addu City, starting from 2015.

State Minister of Education, Ahmed Shafeeu spoke to “Sun” this Sunday and said that the government had made the decision to provide LKG and UKG education for free in select public schools in Male’, starting from 2017.

“We have evaluated how this can be done in Male’. We will decide which schools will be allowed the provision and release details later,” said Shafeeu.

He said the details will be released in November.
