Chief of Defence meets with Nepali President and Defence Minister

Maldivian Chief of Defence Force, Major General Ahmed Shiyam has met with the President of Nepal, Bidhya Devi Bhandari and the Defence Minister, Bhim Bahadur Rawal on his official visit to Nepal.

On his visit to the President of Nepal with the Commanding Officer of the College of Defence and Security Studies, Colonel Vais Waheed, the progress of the Maldivian military and building the relationship of the armies of the two countries were discussed.

Chief of Defence Force Shiyam also met with the Chief of Army Staff of Nepal, General Rajendra Chhetri.

Building the relations between the armies of the two countries were discussed at both of the meeting along with the development of human resources of the Maldivian Army.

On his visit to Nepal on the invitation of the Nepal Army, Chief of Defence Force, Shiyam began the official visit on 16 October. He is set to return to the Maldives on 23 October according to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
