Hamdhoon, Jameela wins Majlis approval as ambassadors

People’s Majlis, this Tuesday, gave approval to appointment of Hamdhoon Hameed as Non-Residential to Singapore, and Jameela Ali Khaleel as Ambassador to Germany.

Both Hamdhoon and Jameela were given approval after majority of lawmakers present during the sitting voted in favor of the appointments.

Jameela is Vice President of Civil Service Commission (CSC), while Hamdhoon is a former Cabinet minister and nephew to President Yameen Abdul Gayoom and Leader of Progressive Party of Maldives, former Maldivian President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.

Hamdhoon is also a member of the advisory committee set up by Maumoon to resolve the internal conflicts within the party.

Majlis also voted in approval of appointment of Aishath Shan Shakir as Ambassador to Bangladesh, and Fathmath Inaya as Non-Residential Ambassador to Thailand.
