Cargo boat sinks near Olhahali

A cargo boat has crashed on the reef of the Kaafu atoll picnic island, Olhahali and sunk.

Information Officer of MNDF, Major Adnaan Mohaned told Sun Media that the crash and sinking of the cargo boat named “Veeru” was reported to MNDF today around 6:27 p.m. And the MNDF Coast Guard is currently active at the scene of the incident.

Major Adnaa said that the 75-foot boat delivering gravel sand to Olhahali had two locals and two expats on board at the time of the incident and has now been rescued onto another boat from Olhahali.
