Mufti Menk to lecture in Maldives next month

Popular Islamic Scholar from Zimbabwe, Dr. Mufti Ismail Menk has been schedule to give a lecture in the Malives next month.

Mufti Menk is also the Director of Daar ul Ilm (Islamic Educational Centre) of the Majlisul Ulama which caters to the educational needs of the Muslim population of Zimbabwe.

He is set to lecture in the “Ilm Talks” workshop for the youth organized by the religious organization Jamiath al Rahma.

Ilm Talks workshops began last year with 15 international scholars according to the religious organization.

The lecture by Mufti Menk at the Ilm Talks organized by the student unions of the Maldives National University (MNU), Maldives Islamic University and the Maldivian Youth League (MYL) this year would be held early next month.

Jamiath al Rahma said that the exact date and venue would be announced at a later date.

The internationally popular scholar, Mufti Menk, would be basing his lecture on the “Rights of One Muslim on Another” at the Ilm Talks workshop.

Mufti Menk studied Shariah in Madinah and holds a Doctorate of Social Guidance from Aldersgate University and has visit the Maldives to lecture in April 2015 as part of “The Message” program by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs of the Maldives.
