Fire hydrant installation begins on Majeedhee Magu

As Majeedhee Magu is undergoing repairs, the installation of the fire hydrant system has begun.

The first fire hydrant was installed in front of Maafannu Madharusaa (School) by the Defence Minister Adam Shareef Umar.

Managing Director of Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC), Fazul Rasheed said that the fire hydrant system is very important to Malé City. He said that the system they received support from MNDF Fire and Rescue Service and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) along with other state institutes in the design and establishing the system.

Fazul said that a total of 12 fire hydrants would be installed on Majeedhee Magu by the end of the project.

Defence Minister Adam Shareef said that the safety in fire incidents in Malé City would be further secured by the end of the installation and would ensure faster responses to fire incidents.

Minister Adam Shareef said that the fire hydrant installation project would be completed by February 2017.
