MATATO signs as associate partner of Maldives Travel Trade Show

Maldives Association of Travel Agencies and Tour Operators (MATATO) has signed as associate partner of Travel Trade Show of Maldives – the first of its kind – organized by Maldives Gateways.

Managing Director of Maldives Gateways, Ahmeem Abdul Razzaq said that MATATO signed as an associate partner of the event in a ceremony at Hotel Jen last Tuesday.

The agreement was signed by President of MATATO – Abdulla Giyaas and Director of Travel Trade Show of Maldives project, Ahmed Ehab.

The two-day event will be held at Dharubaaruge in July, 2017.

It is designed to promote the properties of Maldivian tourism industry, and will be participated by more than 100 resorts in Maldives, 150 travel agents from Maldives and abroad, and 50 partners who will the event via social media.

Business Development Director of Maldives Getaway, Hussain Sanee said that the main purpose of the event was to increase tourist arrivals to the country in face of massive competition by neighboring countries.

He said that Maldives Gateway wanted to ensure the country reached its target of two million tourist arrivals by the year 2020.
