National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka has initiated plans for forum to encourage trade between Maldives and Sri Lanka.
The forum, titled “Bilateral Trade Between Sri Lanka and Maldives” is scheduled to begin on October 20, in Colombo.
Sri Lankan investors will be briefed on investment opportunities available in Maldives during the forum.
The forum will be attended by Maldivian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Zahiya Zareer and other senior officials from the High Commission – providing Sri Lankan investors with the unique opportunity of discussing business directly with them.
High Commissioner Zahiya Zareer had also met with Sri Lankan investors via the oldest business chamber in Sri Lanka, Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) just last September.
She briefed the investors on investment opportunities available from Maldives and the many ongoing infrastructure development projects including airport development projects, housing projects, healthcare development projects, and renewable energy projects.
