Police confiscate narcotics en route to M. Atoll

Police have confiscated a shipment of narcotics en route to M. Atoll.

Police reported that the shipment was confiscated in a joint operation by Police Intelligence and M. Dhiggaru Police Station last Tuesday, October 4.

Police – tipped off about the shipment – had raided the ship as soon as it docked in Dhiggaru.

The narcotics had been found hidden inside a case of yoghurt.

The police found 50 cellophane packets containing narcotics and 200 pills of narcotics hidden inside four cups of yoghurt.

The case is under investigation by police.

The operation was part of its efforts to crackdown on drug trafficking in the country.
