Annual Sustainability Professional Award goes to Siyam

Chairman of the Sun Siyam Group, Ahmed Siyam Mohamed has won World Sustainability’s award for Sustainability Professional of the Year.

Siyam won the award at the ongoing Annual Congress of World Sustainability in Dubai.

The Global Sustainability Awards given at the Congress the most prestigious award in the developmental sector and serves as a benchmark of reaching the Best Practice in the industry.

While the two-day Congress at The Address mall yesterday and today, Siyam was presented with the award for the Sustainability Professional of the Year.

Speaking at the ceremony after receiving the award, Siyam said that human could achieve anything if they work hard with integrity without an intention to harm another.

The Chairman of the Sun Siyam Group also presented awards at the ceremony to those who won the Leadership Award from the educational sector.

The awards are given to businesses that fully achieve the completeness and sutainable work in the fields of economic, environmental, social sectors.

While Sun Siyam Group runs three resorts in the Maldives and owns one property in Sri Lanka, the company is conducting three more resort projects in the Maldives and Sri Lanka.

After working at different jobs in the tourism sector, Siyam entered the business of tourism and has now been a member on the board of the Maldives Association of Tourism Industries (MATI) for 15 years.

Aside from foreign acknowledgements, Siyam has also received the national award for his service to the Maldivian Tourism Industry.

He is also the first Maldivian to receive the honor of Fellow Doctor of Royal Institute of Hospitality in Singapore. And he was appointed as the Honarary President of the Institute.
