Blue Star - ready to make more customized products for Maldives

Blue Star, the largest air conditioning and commercial refrigeration company in India, has revealed that they will be making more customized products suitable for the Maldivian climate in the near future.

Blue Star, with its local partner Reefside, introduced an air conditioning system suitable for the Maldivian climate in May, this year.

The Blue Star T-Series Green Fin technology air conditioner is rust resistant and therefore not affected by seawater.

Managing Director of Blue Star, Vir S. Advani spoke to “Sun” on Monday in an exclusive interview, during which he expressed the company’s intention of introducing customized products to the Maldivian market.

Advani said that it was the company’s mission to become the market leader in Maldives.

“If u want to be number one in such an important market like the Maldives, you cannot be bringing products meant for GCC [Gulf Cooperation Council] or Europe. You have to have customized products for the local market," said Advani.

He said that the company would continue collaborating with Reefside to make customized products for Maldives.

“Along with Reefside, we are customizing our product portfolio to suit this market. Green Fin technology is one example. You will see more examples coming out in the next years. This will allow us to move to the number one position,” said Advani.

Blue Star partnered with Reefside and introduced their products to the Maldivian market in 2013.

Reefside’s Eco Cool distributes many of its products including invertor air conditioners for offices and resorts, and products such as cold rooms and deep freezers for the resorts.

Blue Star currently operates in 15 Gulf Cooperation Council and South East Asian countries, and plans to expand their business in Africa next.
