Association of Professionals in Tourism of India (APT) has made the decision to endorse South Asian Travel Awards (SATA).
SATA was set up to provide the tourism sector of South Asian region with the recognition it deserves in terms of its facilities and service excellence, and quickly became the first such award ceremony to be endorsed by the biggest movers and shakers of the tourism industry in the region.
SATA 2016 is being organized by Maldivian event management company - High Rise, and is due to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka in October.
Renowned Indian tourism companies such as Taj and The Leela Palace have been nominated for the award, as have multiple tourist brand which operate in Maldives such as Sun Siyam, Highway, Jumeirah, Conrad, Dusit Thani, Como, Park Hyatt, Coco Collections, Villa, Adaaran and Constance.
Renowned brands from Sri Lanka have also been nominated for SATA. They include Aitken Spence Hotels and Resorts, Cinnamon, Uga Escapes, Serene Pavilions, Amaya Resorts, Kingsbury, Taj Samundra and Casa Collection.
Organizations which have endorsed SATA in addition to APT include; Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Sri Lanka (FCCISL), Colombo Chamber of Commerce (CCC), Confederation of Associated Tour Operators (India), Association of Travel Agents (ATA) Maldives, Association of Travel and Tour Operators India (ATTOI), Kerala Hotel General Managers Club (KHGMC) and Liveaboard Association of Maldives (LAM).
