Woman succumbs to injuries after Hulhumale’ accident

The 28-year-old woman injured in the road accident in Hulhumale’ on Saturday night has succumbed to her injuries, passing away on Sunday morning while receiving treatment at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.

The 28-year-old victim has been identified as Fathmath Shiuna from R. Rasgetheem.

Shiuna was on the backseat of the motorcycle when a car crashed into them from the back, at around 11:35 pm as they were on the street – Nirolhu Magu.

The husband, Mohamed Shahid, 35, also suffered critical injuries in the accident as being treated at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.

Police information officer Ismail Ali reported that Shiuna had died without regaining consciousness after the accident. And that she had received extensive injuries to her head.

Police said that the accident was being investigated as a priority case.
