Maldivian Islamic calendar amended in accordance with Saudi calendar

Maldivian Islamic calendar has been amended after Saudi Arabia announced that the 1st of Zul Hijja month of the year 1437 is September 3.

Ministry of Islamic Affairs of Maldives announced this Saturday that the month of Zul Hijja will end on, or that the 29th of Zul Hijja will be October 1.

With the change, the Hajj Day of 1437 will be September 11, and the Eid al-Adha will be September 12.

Ministry of Islamic Affairs said that the 1st of Muharram, the start of the Islamic New Year 1438 will be October 2, as is written in the current Maldivian Islamic calendar.
