A Maldivian on the Hajj Pilgrim with Zai Hajj Group has been robbed of her wallet which had USD 400.
The victim of the crime was a middle-aged Maldivian woman.
A member of her family told Sun Media that the woman got robbed on her way back to the hotel from Al-Masjid al-Haram after the noon prayers. The culprit was allegedly a woman wearing Niqab (face covering).
The family member said that the culprit reached into the bag while talking and grabbed the wallet and ran off into the crowd. The wallet contains her ID Card and Cash Card along with USD 400.
While the identity of the robber is unknown, the stolen items are yet to be recovered.
With the rise crimes such as theft during the Hajj season, Hajj Groups have been advising not to take valuables and money when leaving the hotel.
