Ministry of Environment and Energy and United Nations has held an awareness workshop in Sh. Funadhoo, during which it educated 49 Funadhoo school students regarding energy efficiency.
The Ministry said that the awareness workshop targeting high school students in Funadhoo was held over the weekend, August 26 – 27.
Experts from the Ministry educated the students on economizing energy resources and efficient utilization of energy resources.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony of the workshop, Principal of Funadhoo School, Robert Silva expressed hope that the workshop to the students on energy efficiency would have a positive impact on the island community.
The workshop is part of the Strengthening Low Carbon Energy Island Strategies by Ministry of Environment and Energy of Maldives and United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).
It is funded by Global Environment Facility.
