An agreement of cooperation has been signed between Male’ City Council and Colombo Municipal Council.

The ceremony to sign the ‘sister city’ agreement was held during a visit by Male’ City Council delegation to Colombo from 10 to 14 June. It was signed by Male’ City Council Mayor Maizan Ali Manik and Colombo City Mayor A.J.M. Muzzammil.

Male’ City Council said that the agreement would facilitate collaboration between the two cities in terms of economy, science and technology, education, environment, sports, and culture. The two cities will also exchange experiences and ideas on resolving challenges.

Male’ City Council’s invitation to the Mayor of Colombo to visit Maldives has been accepted by the Mayor of Colombo.
