2 Maldivians arrested from Lanka with heroin

Sri Lankan police have reported that two Maldivians in possession of heroin were arrested from the country on Saturday morning.

Sri Lankan newspaper “Daily Mirror” reported that the two Maldivians were arrested with 350 grams of heroin from Dehiwala, Colombo – an area populated by a large number of Maldivians.

Police were quoted in the newspaper saying that the two Maldivians were agents of an international drug smuggling network, which smuggled drugs into Maldives from Pakistan through Sri Lanka.

No details regarding the two Maldivians were made available by the newspaper.
