Recently dismissed member of the PPM Council Aminath Naadhira has made a request to the President of PPM and the former President of the Maldives, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom to improve the committees of the party.
A letter sent to the PPM President on Tuesday by Naadhira said that the members of the Committee for Conduct that dismissed her from the party are people on high ranking positions of the government. And so believes that a committee consisting of such people cannot rule over a case fairly.
In the letter sent before Naadhira was dismissed from the party, she said that she was summoned to the committee regarding a case via Viber on 11:12a.m. last Tuesday. She said that she was to appear at the Committee at 2 p.m. and allowing such a short time to answer fully is not a fair decision.
Naadhira was the Coordinator at the Gender Ministry of the current government before she was dismissed from the position after she sent out a tweet supporting PPM President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom and his son, the MP for Dhiggaru constituency, Ahmed Faaris Maumoon.
After her dismissal, Naadhira tweeted that she was dismissed for speaking against leasing islands for tourism development without open bids in her tweet.
She said that even if she was dismissed, what she said was for the sake of the country.
Along with Naadhira, the MP for Dhiggaru constituency, Ahmed Faaris Maumoon and the Member of Malé City Council, Zaidhulla Ameen was also dismissed from PPM on Tuesday by the Committee for Conduct.
