Authoroties have started replacing sand in the eroded areas of Rasfannu Artificial Beach – a MVR 40 million project, opened five months ago.
Media consultant of Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure, Ahmed Fazaal Hussain spoke to “Sun” on Wednesday, and said that Ministry did continuous repair and maintenance work on all its projects. And that they started renewing the sand in Rasfannu Artificial Beach on Tuesday night.
Rasfannu Artifcial Beach had eroded, less than five months after it was opened.
Bad weather conditions about two months back – strong winds and rough seas – had resulted in flooding in western Male’, causing widespread damage to Rasfannu.
