Phone lines of Island Aviation – which operates national airline – Maldivian – has gone down, deterring the airlines’ operations.
Managing Director of Island Aviation, Abdul Haris informed “Sun” on Monday that workers digging up the road had accidently cut through a cable, resulting in the phone lines going down.
He said that tickets were now being sold manually.
“Of coz the system went down. It’s being done manually now. There are hindrances,” said Haris.
He said that telecom operator – Dhiraagu – was working on installing another cable. And that phone lines would be up again in a matter of time.
The phone lines went down at one of the busiest days for the business – two days before Eid al-Fitr.
