2 people arrested for conning a tourist

Police have arrested two people conning a tourist with the promise the individual would be taken to a resort.

Police said that the two people – a 45-year-old Maldivian man and a 46-year-old Maldivian man – were arrested on July 1.

The two suspects had conned money from Male’ and Hulhule’.

Both the suspects have criminal records for drug related offenses.

Criminal Court has granted a 15-day remand period for the conmen as police continue their investigation.
