Criminal Court has ordered that the over MVR 1 million made in the drug trade to be taken by the state.
The verdict from the court was against Ahuzam Naeem and Mohamed Bishaar Ismail to take the money they made in dealing drugs by the state.
The verdict today said that witness testimonies and evidence prove that Bishaar gave a bag to Ahuzam and another person that went with him on the night of 28 August 2013 at around 9:18 p.m. And said that the investigation report shows 126.6282 grams of cannabis was in the four empty film canisters found in the bag. And so they both were fined with MVR 100,000 (to be paid in full within a month) and sentenced to life in prison.
It further said that Bishaar and Ahuzam could not explain how they got the MVR 52, 385 found in the right side back pocket of his jeans that night and the MVR 1,030,500, USD 66,333, EUR 300 and the SGD 200 found during the search of the residence of Bishaar at G. Thaburuge.
And so the money has been declared to have been earned by dealing drugs and was ordered to be taken in by the state.
