Two people rescued at sea

Two people who left Haa Alifu Hoarafushi on a dinghy for reef fishing has been rescued at sea in the water.

Police said that the men were found around 5:30 p.m. yesterday in the sea east of Haa Alifu Govvaafushi with the combined search efforts by the Police, Manafaru Resort and the people of Hoarafushi when the family of the two reported to the Police that they were gone for too long.

The two people found in the water are 53 and 54 years of age. They were treated at the Hoarafushi Health Center due to the poor condition they were found in after drowning.

Police that according to the two men, the dinghy they were out fishing on flipped over with a wave. The dinghy itself has also been brought back to Hoarafushi.
