Suspected terrorist arrested upon arrival to Maldives

Authorities have apprehended a suspected terrorist who traveled back to Maldives after being on the run for a long time after joining in on fighting in other parts of the world.

An official from Maldives Police Service informed “Sun” that the 30-year-old man was arrested upon arrival to Maldives on June 6.

His remand had been extended three times.

‘Sun” has been informed that the man is from R. Dhuvaafaru. And that he travelled out of the country and got involved in conflicts in other parts of the world, including Pakistan.

He is one of the suspects wanted in the Sultan Park explosion in 2007.
