Names of 5 ministers sent to Majlis for approval

Names of the three newly appointed Cabinet ministers, and two ministers who were transferred over to a different ministry have been sent to People’s Majlis for approval.

They are:

• Ahmed Zuhoor: Transferred from Ministry of Youth to Ministry of Home Affairs.

• Iruthisham Adam: Transferred from Ministry of Health to Ministry of Youth.

• Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim: Appointed Minister of Health, while Deputy Minister of Education.

• Ahmed Munavvar: Appointed Minister of Finance.

• Aminath Zenysha Shaheed Zaki.

The letter sent to Majlis by President Abdulla Yameen requesting approval was read during Wednesday’s Majlis meeting by Speaker Abdulla Maseeh.

The names have now been sent to Government Oversight Committee for review.

It looks like all five Cabinet ministers will gain approval with ease, given that all Majlis committees are dominated by government lawmakers.
