MWSC donates 9 ac systems to “Fiyavathi”

Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has donated nine air conditioning systems to children’s shelter “Fiyavathi” in Hulhumale’.

The donation was provided in a special function held at MWSC Male’ office on Sunday.

The donation was officially handed over by Managing Director of MWSC, Fazul Rasheed, and accepted by Executive Coordinator of Ministry of Gender, Mohamed Shakeeb.

Shakeeb is in charge of running “Fiyavathi”.

Fazul said that the ac systems cost more than MVR 80,000, and that they would be installed in the shelter within this week.

He said that the installation work would be carried out by MWSC.

“Fiyavathi” was built with the financial aid of a Saudi Arabian benefactor.

It was opened in February, 2016.

All children under the age of 9 years in state custody are looked after in “Fiyavathi”.

The rest are looked after at the children’s shelter in ViliMale’.
