Former Chairman of Football Association of Maldives (FAM) Normalization Committee, Bassam Adheel Jaleel has been appointed as General-Secretary of FAM.
Bassam was appointed General-Secretary back in 2014 as well, when Normalization Committee was handed over the running of FAM.
He resigned from the post of Secretary-General in April when Mohamed Shaveedh – who was Chairman of Normalization Committee at the time, resigned, and FIFA appointed Bassam as Chairman.
Mohamed Adam – who successfully managed the Minivan 50 tournament served as Acting Secretary-General at the time.
Bassam was changed back to Secretary-General position after Thoriq Ahmed (Tom) was elected President of FAM on Tuesday.
Bassam – who served as player and official for Valencia Sports Club, keeps close ties with both Maldivian football players – as well as the entire footballing community.
