Fire hydrants to be installed in Malé City

Defence Minister Adam Shareef has said that fire hydrants would be installed in Malé City in an effort to prevent fire incidents and protect the property and the lives of the people.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Fire Prevention Evening held at Rasfannu organized by MNDF Fire and Rescue today, Minister Adam Shareef said that the installation of fire hydrants on Majeedhee Magu would begin within the year. And he said that the hydrants would be used in fire incidents.

Minister Adam Shareef said that authorities need the support of the public in times of such crisis. And he said that the people and the government need to work together and provide which ever support that is possible.

The Minster said that the government is working to acquire fire safety equipment that is in immediate need by the MNDF Fire and Rescue.

Some of the private companies also took part in the Fire Prevention Evening today. And so a total of six companies took part in the event and established stalls.

Global Fire Service Pvt. Ltd., Gauge Pvt. Ltd., Maldives Gas, Villa Gas and Stelco took part in the event.
