Man injured in roadside accident in Male’

A man was injured in a roadside accident that took place in Male’, on Thursday, in which a motorcycle going at high-speed collided with a fuel truck.

An eye witness reported that the accident took place near Villa College.

The eye witness described that the man was driving the motorcycle at high-speed along Raihdhebai Magu and hit the fuel truck riding along Boduthakurufaanu Magu, just as he entered Boduthakurufaanu Magu.

The eye witness said that the leg of the man driving the motorcycle was badly injured in the accident.

“The motorcycle came from Villa College street to enter Boduthakurufaanu Magu. It was driving at high speed. And then the motorcycle hit a truck driving along Boduthakurufaanu Magu. The injured man was taken to the hospital by a bystander on his motorcycle,” said the eye witness.

Police media official said that the accident took place at around 4:10 pm, but did not give out any details regarding how the accident took place, or the identity of the injured man.
