Parents gather in protest after Dhiddhoo principal quits

People of H. A. Dhiddhoo gathered outside Dhiddhoo school in protest after the principal resigned from his post, this Thursday.

President of Dhiddhoo Council, Ibrahim Sinaan spoke to “Sun” and said that parents had not gathered outside the school because they had any issues with the principal, but because they were sad and concerned he was leaving his post.

“The principal we have here in Dhiddhoo school is well-loved by parents. Therefore, the parents have gathered outside the school because they are sad and concerned that he is leaving the school,” said Sinaan.

Sinaan said that he had been informed the principal quit his job because of some issues with the management of the school.

He said that the principal has met with some of the parents gathered outside the school.

“The principal brought great positive changes to the school after he came here. We, the council, also appreciate that. I think that’s why the parents are concerned,” said Sinaan.

Neither the school management nor the principal was available for comment on the issue.
