Man injured in mob attack dies

Ahmed Riyaz, 41, injured in mob attack at Male’ market area on March 11, succumbed to his injuries and died on Wednesday.

A mob of three business man had attacked Riyaz, who allegedly stole from the market.

Riyaz suffered serious injuries to his head and back in the attack.

“Sun” has been informed that the businessmen attacked Riyaz and then threw his into the ocean.

Riyaz – who is from S. Feydhoo died while receiving treatment at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) at around 1 pm, Wednesday.

“Sun” has been unable to get an official comment on the case from IGMH.
