Nadhaal murder suspects released by court

Criminal Court has released the five suspects arrested in connection with the death of Nadhaal Rasheed, 25, - who fell to his death from the 6th floor of Ma. Beyrumathyge on December 13, 2014.

Police media official confirmed that the suspects were released by court Sunday night, with the stipulation that they cooperate with police in their investigation, and inform police if they wish to make any travel plans outside the country.

The suspects are a 21-year-old man, a 22-year-old man, a 24-year-old man, a 25-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman.

All five suspects are Maldivian and were arrested early April.

Police suspect them of premeditated murder.

Head of Serious and Organized Crime Department, Superintendent of Police Abdulla Shatheeh said in an earlier press conference that four individuals who were in the building at the time of

Nadhaal’s death had conclusively tested positive for cannabis.

Nadhaal had also tested positive for cannabis.

He was dead when taken to hospital.

Shatheeh said that the back of Nadhaal’s skull had broken from a couple of places due to the fall.
