The Leisure Zone of the Central Park being developed in Hulhumalé has been officially opened by the President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
At the Leisure Zone opened tonight is a ramp and relaxing scenery.
President and the First Lady explored the Leisure Zone after the opening.
The opening ceremony tonight was held with colorful festivities with performances from the top contestants of the Maldivian Idol.
The Central Park project in Hulhumalé began in 2014 by the Housing Development Corporation (HDC). The park close to eight hectares was opened before completion in last August.
In a previous interview with Sun Media, the Managing Director of HDC, Mohamed Saiman said that the park was opened prematurely to allow the public to make use of the park.
More zones are set to be opened at the Hulhumalé Central Park along with a Central Plaza, Fountain Zone and an Interactive Zone.
