Malaysian low-budget airline – AirAsia – set up one of their travel and service centers in Maldives on Sunday.
AirAsia is currently the only airline which offers direct flights between Maldives and Malaysia.
The office was set up on the first floor of G. Fasmoogoo.
It will be run by their partner in Maldives – All H Maldives.
The office was inaugurated by CEO of AirAsia Berhad, Aireen Omar and Maldivian Tourism Minister, Moosa Zameer.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Aireen Omar noted that opening a travel and service center in Maldives would be a huge convenience to their customers in Maldives – especially those who are unable to make online bookings.

The company introduced a promotional fare during the ceremony – a 20 percent discount on AirAsia and AirAsia X flights from Kuala Lumpur to Cambodian resort town Siem Reap, Chinese cities Wohan and Shenzen; from Malaysian city Johor Bahru to Chinese city Guangzhou; and from Indonasian city Bali to Australian cities Darwin and Perth.
The fare tickets will be available from AirAsia center in Male’ from May 22 to May 29. And can be used for travel from June 1 to August 31.
The airline noted that Maldives had been opened up to more than 21 destinations from more than nine countries through them – including China, Australia, Japan, Vietnam, Philippines and Thailand.
