National Meteorological Center has forecasted better weather than that seen the past week in Maldives for the next 12 hours.
Heavy rainfall and strong winds the past week had resulted in severe flooding in some islands and boats capsizing – as a result of Cyclone Roanu.
Met office has said that the cyclone has now moved past Maldives and is currently hovering over Bangladesh. And that the weather would be better Saturday night, and Sunday morning.
Met office warned that despite better weather than that seen the past week, thunderstorms could still be experienced in northern and central atolls as it is Hulhangu Monsoon.
The office predicted rough seas and possibility of flooding in some islands during high tide.
