Maldives Meteorlogical Service (MET Office) has said that the weather has improved significantly compared to this past week but the effects of monsoon would still be felt across the country.
Director of the MET Office, Ahmed Rasheed told Sun Media that although the weather has improved compared to last week, it is still possible that winds could pick up and sea to be rough.
The forecast for the next 24 hours by the MET Office show rain and thunder expected in the north and central atolls with effects of rain in the south.
And winds are expected at 7-17 miles per hour from south and south-west in the southern atolls and 13-20 miles an hour in other areas. Winds are expected to pick up to 40 miles an hour during showers.
Over 15 islands were flooded in the heavy rainstorm across the country and left a number of people affected.
MET Office said that the weather was unusually harsh last week following a storm formed on the eastern side of the country on Monday.
