Defence Ministry authorization required to broadcast Green Zone

Defence Ministry has ordered all telecasting companies to acquire authorization from the Ministry before broadcasting the scenes of Green Zone, which is under the security of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).

A letter sent from the Ministry sent to all the television channels in the country said that authorization from the Ministry must be requested in writing and ordered the channels not to telecast without the authorization.

The Green Zone guarded by the MNDF includes Hilaaleege, Izzuddeen Jetty, MNDF HQ, Supreme Court, the Parliament Building and the President’s Office.
