President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has inaugurated the Maldives-China Trade and Cultural Organization (MCTCO): A cultural and trade exchange where the citizens of both countries can take part in.
The purpose of the Organization which officially inaugurated tonight, is to strengthen the close relations and trade connections between the two countries along with finding Chinese investments to the Maldives and sustainable cultural exchange.
At the ceremony tonight where the state ministers and Chinese nationals in the Maldives took part, a report was presented which said that members can join the organization in three clubs.
And so the Chinese investors interested in investing in the Maldives can take part in the “Investment Club.” And for Maldivian companies that want to start businesses in cooperation with China can join the “Business Club.” And the third is the “Cultural Club” to experience the culture of the two countries.
The President of the MCTCO is the Chief of Staff of Muliaage, the Presidential Residence, Ahmed Mustafa Mohamed. And the Vice President is Miduam Saud, who has spent five years in China.
The Honorary President of the MCTCO is the Housing Minister, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
