Pickups banned from airport taxi queue

Transport Authority has banned pickup trucks from the taxi queue for the airport ferry along with loading and unloading in the in the former Nasandhura area.

Chairman of the Transport Authority, Abdul Rasheed Naafiz told Sun Media tonight that there have been complaints of pickup trucks illegally going on the taxi queue for the airport ferry causing problems with the queue order.

And so the Transport Authority has made a request at the Traffic Police to take action for illegal loading and unloading by pickup trucks in the taxi queue.

The Transport Authority said that it is illegal for private cars to be on the taxi queue.

The Chairman of the Transport Authority said that pickup trucks can load and unload at a free spot in the area legally so long as it does not affect the traffic.

He said that it is not a solution to allow cars and pickup trucks in the Hulhulé airport ferry area and a solution would be a terminal that can manage baggage and passengers to cars and pickup trucks without worry.
