One of the people attacked last night discharged from hospital after treatment

One of the two people that were injured in an attack with a sharp object last night in Malé City has been discharged from the hospital after treatment.

Managing Director of the ADK Hospital, Ahmed Affaal told Sun Media today that the young man was discharged after about an hour of treatment.

He said that the second person injured in the attack, a 22-year-old man, is being treated as a high dependency patient but he is now stable.

“That young man after an operation, as a high dependency patient he’s being treated. He is now stable.” Affaal said.

The two men were attacked last night with a sharp object around 1 a.m. last night near Jelly Restaurant on Majeedhee Magu in the second such incident in the night.

The first attack took place on Vaijehey Magu where a man was attacked by three people who came on motorcycles. Two people have been arrested in relation to the attack.

Serious and Organized Crime Department of the Maldives Police Service is investigating the attacks.
