Chief of Justice, Abdulla Saeed has decided to celebrate a special Open House Media Week with initiative from the Judicial System to support freedom of press and keep a close relationship with the media.
Speaking at the closing of the Judge’s Forum at the hall of the Islamic Center today, the Chief of Justice said that the Judicial System must be an institute that is open, friendly to the media and respect the freedom of press. And he called the Judicial System to work together with the media.

The Chief of Justice, Abdulla Saeed called to the heads of the courts to share the information on the Open House Media Week, to be held in July, in the coming days.
And the Chief of Justice reveal a number of plans of the Judiciary in this year and the coming year including an action plan to fight human trafficking.

Plans by the Judiciary:
• Open House Media Week – July 2016
• A look at establishing a trade free environment – August 2016
• Establishing action plan against human trafficking – September 2016
• Workshop on human trafficking – November 2016
• Launching the Judicial report on human trafficking – February 2017
• Malé Declaration of Judges on from allied nations

In his speech today, the Chief of Justice highlighted on the topic of strengthening relations among the Judicial institutes and of the Judicial System with other institutes. And so the Chief of Justice requested that employees of the Magistrate Courts in the atolls be allowed to work in courts in the capital or work at the Department of Judicial Administration for a certain period of time.
And called to have a big “Maahefun” (Traditional feast before the month of Ramadan) by the Judicary. And asked to hold such a feast where all the employees of the Judicial System be gathered at one place with their families for the event.

The participants of the Human Trafficking Colloquium held in Paradise Island Resort last week were given certificates at the ceremony today. And the Chief of Justice launched a book based on the different statistics of the Judiciary.
